Architecture


Architecture in general is a very important component of Eastern Ontario, the most significant of which are of two types: the historic buildings sprinkled across the region and the newer post-modern buildings which tend to be in the four largest cities – Ottawa, Kingston, Belleville and Cornwall. Historically there is a wide variety of building types that are associated with the variety of people and cultures who have settled here.  These buildings are presented under the following categories:
